Superheaters stand as pivotal boiler spare components, significantly enhancing thermal efficiency. High-temperature steam boiler radiant superheaters are typically utilized in high-pressure power plant boilers.

Within a boiler, the superheater functions to heat saturated steam to a specified temperature of superheated steam, thereby boosting power plant efficiency. The reheater essentially serves to further enhance the thermal power plant cycle efficiency.

Steam Superheater Coils: These coils are employed in boilers to convert saturated steam into superheated steam, with specific application in power plant boiler systems. We produce superheater coils using multiple grades of alloy steel and stainless steel tubes, offering configurations with or without supports and headers as per customer-provided drawings.

Changes in boiler operating conditions, such as load level, fuel change, combustion condition change, etc., all have an impact on superheater outlet steam temperature, so in power station boilers there are means to adjust boiler outlet steam temperature to make it stable at the specified value. Commonly used means are:

  • With water jet or surface type temperature reducer directly adjust the steam temperature
  • With the swing burner to change the temperature of the furnace outlet smoke
  • With smoke recirculation adjustment superheater heat absorption

When the boiler load increases, the temperature rise value of the inlet and outlet steam of the flow superheater increases, while the temperature rise value of the radiant superheater decreases.

When convective, radiant, and semi-radiant superheaters are optimally set up and combined, outlet steam temperature stays steady—even with load or combustion changes.

In operation, parallel tubes in the superheater stack absorb heat and let steam flow at different rates. To prevent overheating in single tubes, big boilers split the superheater into multiple tube banks. Steam from each bank mixes via an external furnace manifold, and guide pipes transpose banks, keeping tube temperature differences small.

Superheater is a part of a boiler that heats the steam from the saturation temperature to the overheating temperature. It is also called a steam superheater. Superheater can be divided into convective type, radial type and semi-radial type according to heat transfer mode; According to the characteristics of the structure, it can be divided into serpentine pipe type, screen type, wall type and wall type. They are made up of parallel pipes and inlet and outlet manifold.

Most industrial boilers do not have superheaters because many industrial processes and living facilities require only saturated steam. In power stations, locomotives and Marine boilers, superheater is usually installed to improve the circulating thermal efficiency of the whole steam power plant.
